Kat’s Botanicals Review by Aaron Cadena at CBD Origin
Today we have not one, not two, but three different CBD oils to review with you, courtesy of Kats Botanicals! This particular company is well-known for their premium CBD products and their reputation of growing hemp in Colorado at a very high altitude of over 8,000 feet! This allows the CBD to retain many nutrients and cannabinoids not found in other types of hemp. The combination of CBD and MCT oil in a single product has projected Kat’s reputation far and wide as being one of the best CBD products available on the market. I have the pleasure of reviewing their vanilla, blueberry, and naturally flavored tinctures today. Let’s check these out now!
Kat’s Botanicals grows all their hemp in Colorado, and use a unique ethanol extraction process to create their full-spectrum CBD products.
Every single one of Kat’s Botanical’s products have over 100 reviews, with the flavored tinctures each rated as 4.5 stars. The blueberry tincture had 153 reviews, the vanilla tincture had 155 reviews, and the natural tincture had 152 reviews. I was shocked at the amount of reviews per each product, as it shows how many people have tried and loved each tincture. The company’s Facebook overall has a rating of 4.8 out of 316 reviews. I can honestly say that all of the tinctures (and the vast amount of products they offer) have made their customers very happy.
The company’s trustworthiness is so high it’s off the charts. Their website is chock full of useful information, from where they grow their CBD and kratom to their informative blog. They also sell shilajit and turmeric if you’re interested in these types of products as well. If you have any questions that aren’t answered on the site’s FAQ’s, there’s a chat button that will instantly connect you to their customer service rep. You can join their newsletter for updates and new products, and you can call or email them as well.
One thing that I found odd about the company was while it does offer lab results from third-party testers, you have to request it. Other sites have the results listed right on the website, but Kats does not. Perhaps because of the sheer volume of products available on the website, they feel it’s easier to just have customers request it. That said, this could be a turnoff for some consumers.
One of my favorite things about these tinctures was their calming packaging. Each smoked glass bottle had a dark green label wrapped nearly fully wrapped around it and left just enough room at the edge to show how much tincture remained. The label was extremely professional and had clear easy-to-read font and bright white lettering. Each label was marked as 1000mg, but the color of the label reflected the flavor of the tincture (navy blue = blueberry, dark red = natural, and white/gold = vanilla). Each ingredient list had different listings depending on the flavor, but we’ll go over that momentarily. Lastly, each bottle had a label that had a suggested use section that also noted that the dosage would vary according to each individual. Overall, the label was by far one of the prettiest and most professional labels I’ve ever seen for a CBD product.
Each of these tinctures are high potency full spectrum CBD oil. Each bottle was sealed with perforated plastic to ensure the tincture had never been opened. The childproof caps gave me no trouble to unscrew but none of the droppers had graduated markings to let you know how much tincture was actually in the dropper. The liquid for each of these tinctures was a brownish yellow color and reminded me of aged bourbon. The viscosity for each of these tinctures was smooth and equally consistent throughout the entire bottle. The texture of all of the tinctures was oily and silky underneath the tongue, with only a little trouble keeping it under my tongue. As we mentioned before, each of these tinctures had a different flavor. Let’s start out with the blueberry one, since I’ve never had a blueberry CBD tincture before and was dying to see how it was.
The ingredients for the blueberry tincture were full spectrum hemp extract, MCT coconut oil, natural flavoring with natural tocopherols, and ethyl alcohol. When I unscrewed the childproof cap, I held the bottle close to my nose to see if there was any detectable scent of blueberry. It definitely had a distinct scent of blueberry, but a slight chemical scent as well given off by the full-spectrum CBD. Since I knew the flavor was blueberry, mind over matter helped me detect a blueberry scent. The best way to describe this tincture’s flavor is that it is the memory of blueberries. Bear with me now! There’s no sweet and overpowering blueberry flavor like you’d find in a beverage or food product. It doesn’t even smell like blueberry! Rather, it has a light blueberry taste under the tongue that fades to a slightly bitter aftertaste when you swallow the tincture. It’s actually very pleasant and it makes you think of blueberries.
The ingredients for the vanilla tincture were full spectrum hemp extract, MCT coconut oil, sunflower oil, natural flavoring with natural tocopherols, and ethyl alcohol. I was really curious about the scent of this tincture, since vanilla isn’t usually a strong scent. When I unscrewed the childproof cap and held it close to my nose, I was disappointed but unsurprised that I couldn’t smell anything remotely close to vanilla. I detected a calming hemp scent, but unfortunately no vanilla. Once I rolled the tincture around in my mouth, it took at least five seconds to detect a very faint trace of vanilla. But it vanished as quickly as it had come, leaving me with a slightly bitter aftertaste and a very oily tongue. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the flavor, but I can understand how difficult it is to infuse a light flavor like vanilla into an overpowering hemp-flavored tincture.
While the other two tinctures had a long list of ingredients, the natural flavored CBD tincture only had two ingredients: pure hemp oil extract and MCT oil. The other two tinctures had very light and gentle scents so I had to hold the bottles close to my nose. Don’t make that mistake with the natural flavored tincture! My nostrils were blasted with a sharp hemp scent as soon as I held the bottle under my nose. The flavor however was very smooth. I was expecting a harsh taste to match the scent but it was pleasant and calming. The tincture was easy to hold under my tongue, and once I swallowed, it left behind a pine flavored aftertaste. The tincture was but not to the point where it was gross. I was actually more impressed with this tincture’s taste than the blueberry or vanilla. I would prefer to use this flavor than the other ones.
The tinctures were very easy to use, but I wasn’t happy with one thing…the droppers aren’t graduated droppers, meaning that you don’t know how much you’re taking in a single dropper. It could look halfway or a third way full, but since there aren’t any markings on the dropper, you’d really have to guess. Also, the droppers don’t fill up all the way, so it’s difficult to gauge how much you should take each time to see how it affects you. For that reason, I give the product’s ease of use a rating of 7. The bottles were easy to unscrew and the plastic packaging came off easily thanks to the perforated lines. The bottles also screwed back on very easily and the glass and label placement made it easy to check how much tincture was left over time.
Effects & Benefits
The product was very effective in its benefits. I use CBD primarily for stress and relaxation, as my day is filled with projects that need to be completed and constant reading/reviewing. I’ve noticed I have better focus and discipline to manage my time when using this product. I give it a rating of 8.
I would definitely recommend these products to a friend. I was particularly happy that the tinctures came in unique flavors like blueberry and vanilla. If you prefer unflavored tinctures, Kat’s unflavored tincture is a smooth rolling hemp flavor that I can see many users enjoying.
Price vs Value
The cost of each of these tinctures is $64.99. I found this to be a fair deal, as most tinctures fall within the $60-$70 price tag. There wasn’t a subscription price to make it a little cheaper, but with such a fair price, it’s easy to stock up on these without breaking the bank.
The company’s name is Kat’s Botanicals and their website is https://katsbotanicals.com. The company is based out of New Jersey, but their CBD is grown in Colorado and their kratom is grown in Indonesia! With a company using all available resources, you can be sure you’re getting a unique product with trusted ingredients.
My final conclusion is that Kat’s Botanicals deserves every bit of their fame. Their website is overflowing with helpful information, with a section called the CBD Bible that talks about CBD in great detail. Their products are reviewed by literally hundreds of people and every product has a 4.5 rating or higher. Their inclusion of a chat button was reassuring that each question will be answered as quickly as possible, and their prices reflect their quality. Since taste is subjective, you might think that the tincture’s ratings were a bit harsh, but I invite you to try them for yourself and see! It was a true pleasure to review these products from Kat’s Botanicals. I urge anyone looking for relief from anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and many other health problems to definitely check out all that Kat’s Botanicals has to offer!
